THE EDLAND ART GALLERY 1984-PRESENT
Carole McGinley Edland Owner/Director/Artist

The Edland Art Gallery opened in 1984 after owner completed her Art Degree at the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse. It was Carole's dream to have a place to display her large selection of paintings, pottery and photographs. She also invited other artists to share the space and have art openings every few months. This first gallery was on South 7th Street for a brief time followed by a move to the third floor of the now City Square Building for eight years. New owners of the building wanted Carole's space for and office, so another move was made.

This time the final move was acrosse the street to the old Penney's Building now called Scenic Center. There, a much larger area was had for the gallery on the fifth floor and it contains paintings, pottery, photographs, original note care, jewelry, books of all types and new art supplies from Paris, France brought by Carole on her last trip. The hours are weekdays 10-2 pm and by appointment. It is a wonderful place for a gallery, art shows, and information on art trips to Chicago. Call for details on our next trip!

The gallery is also the Center for the Butterfly Ministry Mind-Body-Spirit Coping Skills Sessions. Individuals who are dealing with negative life issues, chronic stress and serious medical problems benefit from these informational sessions, either in groups or one-on-one appointments. There is a sliding scale fee and grant money can help those in need. Call for an appointment at 608-785-2787.
